Last evening, I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening of the Glass Wheel Studio. Glass Wheel Studio is a contemporary art facility located in the heart of The NEON, Norfolk’s Arts District. The event allowed guests the opportunity to meet artists from the 2015-16 Studio Artist Program, and view their inaugural exhibition PROVENANCE featuring works by Jon Goldberg, Natalie Abrams, and Liz Berk. This was accentuated by entertainment provided by a live DJ, delicious passed hors de’ oeuvres compliments of Omar’s Carriage House and a cash bar.
I truly enjoyed being in this creative space and interacting with the various artists, but I also got to release my own creative juices by contributing to a communal painting. As always, I snapped plenty of photos, so take a peek at some of the awesomeness from last evening. Also, make sure to check out the Glass Wheel Studio for yourself and check their website for upcoming events!
Make It Memorable!
I mentioned in my last post that there have been some significant things that have happened over the last couple of months. One keynote event has been me getting inducted as President of the Hampton Roads chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES). The event was held at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens and consisted of a Gatsby theme. I won’t bore you with a bunch of details. Here’s some photos that were taken by Dragon Studios.
Presented by the Urban League of Hampton Roads Young Professionals and Men for Hope. It’s a NYE party with a purpose! It’s all about class, culture and community service. A portion of the proceeds will benefit single mothers in the Hampton Roads community!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of assisting Modern Femme Photography’s Ladies’ Day~ All About You event. The event, which was held in their gorgeous studio consisted of a complimentary Mimosa Bar, chair massages, makeup application class and live Portrait/Boudoir photoshoot demo. Some of the other great vendors that were present were Dhalia Edwards MUA, Life Massage and Arbonne. Take a peek at some of the photos that I captured at the event and make sure to check out Modern Femme’s website at http://www.ModernFemme.com.
Last evening we had the pleasure of helping this lovely couple make their special day memorable! We are swooning over this gorgeous sneak peek photo compliments of Austin Hodges Photography! We can’t wait to share more details of their Sunflower wedding.
Two weeks ago we had the honor of presenting the 2014 Hope Celebrity Weekend Extravaganza: Mardi Gras in Hampton Roads. The event is an annual fundraiser that is hosted by Still Hope Foundation, Inc. The weekend was held at multiple venues from September 19-21, 2014 and played host to many celebrities within the fields of television, film, NBA, NFL and MLB (oh and of course all of our local celebrities). I’m going to share some quick photos from the weekend.
The weekend was preluded by the Hope Sponsor Reception and Women in Excellence Awards ceremony that was co-presented by Suntrust Bank.
The event was held at Nauticus.
The official start of the weekend’s activities was the Hope Masquerade Ball which was held at the Renaissance Portsmouth-Norfolk Waterfront Hotel.
Saturday’s event consisted of the Hope Celebrity Casino Night which was held at Nauticus and the USS Wisconsin.
Unfortunately, the Hope Celebrity Golf Tournament had to be cancelled due to the weather, but we were still able to get out golfers together to enjoy each other at a private reception which was held at our host hotel- Norfolk Waterside Marriott.
The finale of the weekend was the Hope Jazz Concert which was hosted by Lamman Rucker and featured Jeffrey Osbourne, Rick Braun, Norman Brown, Gerald Albright and Gregg Karukus. Comedian Alex Scott also graced the stage with his comedic offerings.
