We recently had the opportunity to design a surprise wedding proposal presentation. The groom-to-be was not sure how he wanted to present his lady with her ring, but was sure that he wanted it to be seamless and unexpected. I knew that although she may have been anticipating a proposal soon, she would never assume that it would come via her dessert. Take a look at the presentation that we designed!
I found this recipe on “That’s So Michelle” blog a couple of years ago and tried them out. They are delicious! Please try them and let me know what you think.
1 cup Milk
1/2 cup Bourbon
1/2 cup Crème de menthe
1 (8oz) tub of Cool Whip
1 handful of fresh chopped mint
(Note: If you want to save yourself some money and not have to buy two bottles of booze, you can skip the Crème de menthe and add 1-1/2 cups of milk, 1/2 cup bourbon and a packet of Duncan Hines frosting flavor creations in “Mint Chocolate” instead. You can find it next to the frosting in the baking isle of most grocery stores. It gives the mint flavor and color)
1. Mix your pudding and milk in a large bowl with an electric mixer until combined. Will look semi thick.
2. Add your bourbon, creme de menthe and cool whip. Fold these ingredients into the pudding mixture until combined. (Don’t over mix it, just make sure there are no lumps). Cover and set aside in fridge until it’s time to serve.
3. Right before serving fold in your fresh chopped mint. (reserve some mint for garnish)
4. Poor into shot glasses and top with whipped cream and a mint sprig on top.
Shot glasses: I usually order these. They are priced well and come with 50. I recently just ordered this glass set though and it comes with cute little spoons.
Most people know the business resume and persona, but very few people know the actual person behind Memorable Events by Apryl. Apryl’s friend, Danyel, decided to ask her questions that most people may not know about the planner/designer. And unwittingly, Apryl agreed to answer the questions- no holds barred.
No worries, all of the questions were fun and carefree. Take a look at some of the things that you may not have known about Apryl below.

Introducing change #1, our new logo…
While at a local fabric store, I came across some gorgeous faux leather fabric. I immediately wondered how I could incorporate it for a design!
Most of my followers know that I love to mix textures, colors and patterns. This design would be no different. I used the fabric for my table linen and combined it with tones of gold and ivory. The floral arrangement helped to soften the table.
The tableware consisted of tones of ivory and gold. The patterns also varied per setting. The large plates were all the same pattern, but the saucers were completely different as some had gold sparkles and others had writing.
Take a look at some of the photos that we captured of our design.
