While at a local fabric store, I came across some gorgeous faux leather fabric. I immediately wondered how I could incorporate it for a design!
Most of my followers know that I love to mix textures, colors and patterns. This design would be no different. I used the fabric for my table linen and combined it with tones of gold and ivory. The floral arrangement helped to soften the table.
The tableware consisted of tones of ivory and gold. The patterns also varied per setting. The large plates were all the same pattern, but the saucers were completely different as some had gold sparkles and others had writing.
Take a look at some of the photos that we captured of our design.
Yes, I know that the holidays are officially over but there’s never a time limit for event design. Over the holidays I had the opportunity to share holiday tablescape ideas with the viewers of “Montage.”
Per their website “Montage is a television program dedicated to all things lifestyle-based. From transforming a fashion fit and creating the perfect make-up look, to concocting new food and drink recipes and DIY projects, Montage gives you tips and tricks on how to upgrade your lifestyle. Montage segments are ever-changing and always highlight unique and non-traditional ways to do almost anything. A half-hour show for young men and women ages 18-34 who appreciate entertainment, inspiration, creativity, and a fun way of life.”
You all know that I love the untraditional! Without further adieu, here’s the link to the episode. My segment starts at the 8:45 mark. http://www.redelynngroup.com/season-2-episodes.
This year, my New Year’s Eve will be pretty low key. Last year, I was working an event and brought in the new year blessed but tired. This year, I think that I am going to just stay at home and enjoy some time with close friends and family.
Many of you may be hosting get togethers at home, so I thought that I would share some tablescape ideas for your New Year’s Eve soirée.
Tis’ the season and I’m beginning my Christmas Eve traditions. One of my favorites is creating my Godiva Chocolate Peppermint Martini. This is my must have drink while I watch “A Christmas Story.”
I thought that I would share my recipe so that you can share in the tradition as well!
1 1/2 shots Godiva chocolate liqueur
1 1/2 shots Creme de cacao
1/2 shot vodka
2 1/2 shots half-and-half
1/4 shot peppermint extract
Mix all ingredients with ice, shake and pour into a martini glass.
You may then garnish with whipped Creme with a peppermint stick as a garnish.
Thanksgiving is Thursday and I admittedly have not started my meal shopping. Since I’m working from home today, I decided to spend my morning designing my own holiday table. After an hour of gathering items, painting small pumpkins and creating personalized seating cards/thank you notes – Voila! Our table is ready!
This was a special interview for me as I had the pleasure of planning Mrs. William’s wedding seven years ago.
