This past Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend the 24th Annual Taste of Hampton Roads event held at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. The event helps to raise funds to purchase food and provide services for over 400 agencies and programs. Over 30 of the area’s best local restaurants participate by sharing some of the most delicious cuisines you will ever taste. That is always a plus for a foodie like me!
The evening started with VIP reception that included a private wine tasting, butler passed hors d’oeuvres, gourmet bites as well as an Iron Chef Competition. I must admit that I couldn’t get enough of the crab cakes and martinis. I always enjoy the VIP reception because it is more intimate and allow me to reconnect with a lot of my associates in the community that I do not get to see often. I have put together some photos of the VIP event below.
After the VIP reception ended, it was time for the main event. Now most people that know me know that I am an extreme foodie, so I was in heaven at this event! I can’t remember the last time that I ate so much ( and I paid for it the next day). My favorite area band, HOTCAKES, performed and made sure that the guests really enjoyed themselves. And if good food, drinks and music were not enough for the guests; we were treated to a mini casino to really amp up the evening. I’m not much of a gambler so I spent my time on the dance floor and in the photo booths! Take a look of some pictures from the main event.
