Yesterday I had the opportunity and pleasure to be a part of two different fundraising events.  One as a planner and the other as a guest.

The day started with me setting up for Jazz, Mimosas & More– a campaign fundraiser for Norfolk City councilwoman Angelia Williams.  The event was a brunch w/ special guest, jazz saxophonist, Eric Darius.  Guests were treated to Mimosas (of course), Bloody Marys, Spinach & Cheese Frittata, Shrimp & Grits and so much more!  Let’s just say that I really enjoyed working this event.  The event was held at the lovely Pagoda Garden in Norfolk, VA.   Many government officials and community leaders came out to show their support for Angelia who will be seeking in May.

The second event for the day was the 2011 Hope Celebrity Gala.  This is a fundraising event held by the Still Hope Foundation.  The Still Hope Foundation is an organization that aids single mothers in building a strong and successful family unit by offering quality resources and supportive relationships.  The evening was marked with a seated dinner, live raffles/auctions, awards and the “The Soul of Summer Tour” with special guests Rick Braun, Eric Darius, Maysa and Johnathan Butler.  Because Co-founder, Tony Brothers, is a NBA official, the event was attended by many sports greats from the NBA, NFL and MLB.  The purpose of the event is to help raise funding so that they can continue to positively affect the community and the lives of single-mother led families.

Take a peek below of some of the pictures from this weekend’s events.
