I love summer parties and events.  After staying in for most of the winter, this is the time to get out and explore in the sun.

I go get invited to a lot of events during this time of year and with the invitations comes calls for help regarding how the host can pull off a nice party on a budget.

One way to save on a summer bash is to use your natural outdoor surroundings as your venue. Many of my clients have opted to have summer parties at their residence or at a local outdoor venue because it is less expensive and you tend to need less decor items because the natural landscape serves as a major decor element.

For simple, yet bold decor elements you may use paper lanterns. They are available in many different sizes, shapes and colors. You may hang them from trees (illuminated with candles) or may even use them as centerpieces on the tables.

The most expensive line item of any party is the food. Keep the menu simple! Stick with items that are filling but tasty. You can have pizza that is cut up in squares and
garnished with kalamata olives or artichokes, deviled eggs, crudite sandwiches, salad w/ homemade dressing, cheese & crackers, and of course chips.

Make it Memorable!
